On May 20th, 2026, the TIME4SPORTS project partner Academia de Judo do Barreiro (AJBR) successfully delivered its pilot training seminar online, contributing to the testing and refinement of the TIME4SPORTS Educational Training Framework.
The seminar brought together student-athletes, coaches, and sport administrators in an interactive online learning environment. In total, 12 participants attended the session, offering valuable input and feedback on the content, structure, and practical relevance of the training framework. All participation and feedback were treated anonymously, in line with GDPR principles.
Testing the TIME4SPORTS Training Framework
The pilot seminar focused on presenting the TIME4SPORTS Educational Training Framework, which aims to support student-athletes in developing stronger time management skills and balancing academic, sporting, and personal commitments more effectively.
Participants were introduced to the five core areas of the framework:
- Understanding the Time Management Challenges of Student-Athletes
- Planning, Prioritisation, and Goal Setting
- Managing Stress, Fatigue, and Workload Balance
- Practical Tools and Digital Solutions
- The Role of Coaches and Educators
The session combined structured presentation material, practical examples, real-life scenarios, discussion prompts, and exercises, encouraging participants to actively connect the training content with their own daily experiences.
Valuable Feedback from Participants
Following the presentation, participants took part in an open discussion where they shared comments, questions, and suggestions on how the framework could be further improved. This exchange confirmed the relevance of the training material and highlighted its usefulness for supporting student-athletes in managing competing responsibilities.
One important point raised during the discussion was the value of simple and clear planning tools, such as weekly or monthly calendars, that allow student-athletes to organise both school workload and sport commitments in a more structured way.
Participants also completed an anonymous online feedback survey. The results showed a very positive assessment of the seminar, with participants highlighting that the content was clear, relevant, well-structured, and connected to real-life challenges. The feedback also identified useful opportunities for improvement, including the addition of more hands-on activities and small refinements to the visual presentation of the materials.
Moving Forward
The AJBR pilot seminar represents another important step in the development and validation of the TIME4SPORTS Educational Training Framework. The feedback collected during the session will contribute to the continued refinement of the training materials, ensuring that the final programme remains practical, accessible, and closely aligned with the needs of student-athletes, coaches, and educators.
Through the pilot activities carried out across partner countries, TIME4SPORTS continues to strengthen its approach and move closer to delivering an effective training programme that supports student-athletes in achieving better balance between sport, education, and everyday life.
